Biography

Keiko Sakamoto is a photographer and artist based in Japan.
After many years working in the medical field, she transitioned into a career in photography.Her work transforms scenes emerging from the familiar natural world and the inner landscape of life into visual expressions through light, color, and contour.Her practice expands beyond photography and frames, extending into moving-image installations, canvases, and spatial environments that can unfold across entire spaces, including ceilings.Working across both photography and contemporary art—from commissioned projects to independent artistic practice—her work is guided by a consistent philosophy rooted in reverence and love for life. Through her work, she seeks to reveal the essence that lies beyond visible form.The works created from her distinctive perspective—both flat and imbued with warmth—invite viewers into a world of introspection and memory, where they encounter the quiet yet undeniable presence that breathes within.
